This policy explains what Best Reviews Deals collects when you visit bestreviews.deals, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. We have written it to describe what this site actually does rather than to list every possibility a template might cover.

Last updated: July 29, 2026

The short version

We do not require an account. We do not sell personal information. We do not currently run analytics or advertising trackers of our own. The main personal data we hold is what you type into a comment form or send us by email. Retailers you click through to set their own cookies, which we do not control.

What we collect

Information you give us

If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website address you enter, along with the comment content. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.

We keep comments and their metadata so that follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically instead of being held in a queue.

Information collected automatically

Our web server records standard request logs: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. These logs are used to operate the site, diagnose faults and identify abusive traffic such as automated attacks on the login page.

When you submit a comment, your IP address and browser user agent string are recorded with it. This is standard WordPress behavior and helps with spam detection.

Analytics

At the time of this update, this site does not run Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, or any comparable third party analytics or session recording tool. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and state which tool we use before or at the time we deploy it.

Cookies

Our own site sets very few cookies. If you leave a comment, WordPress may set cookies to remember your name, email and website so you do not have to retype them. These are a convenience and last up to one year. If you log in to the site as an author or administrator, session cookies are set to keep you logged in.

Affiliate cookies are different and worth understanding. When you click a link to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer sets its own cookie in your browser to attribute any resulting purchase to us. That cookie is set by the retailer, governed by the retailer’s privacy policy, and outside our control. We do not receive your name, address, payment details or the contents of your cart. What we receive from an affiliate program is aggregated commission reporting.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking affiliate cookies does not change the price you pay. It means we are not credited for the purchase.

Third parties that process data

A small number of services necessarily see some data when you use this site.

  • Akismet, operated by Automattic, filters comment spam. Comment content, the submitted name and email address, IP address and user agent are sent to Akismet for evaluation. This is how the comment form stays usable.
  • Affiliate networks, including the Amazon Associates Program, CJ, Impact and Awin, receive click and conversion data through their own tracking when you follow an affiliate link.
  • Our hosting provider processes server logs as part of operating the site.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Embedded content

Articles may include embedded content such as videos or images from other sites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

How long we keep things

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognized automatically. Server logs are retained for a limited operational period and then rotated out. Email correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle the matter it concerns.

Your rights

You can ask us to provide a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is inaccurate, or delete it. To make a request, email [email protected] from the address concerned, or tell us which comment is yours.

Deleting a comment removes it and its metadata. We may retain information where we are required to for legal or security reasons, such as records of abuse.

California residents

If you live in California, state law gives you the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and why, to request deletion of that information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under California law. Use the contact address above to make a request.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no common standard for how sites should respond to it. Since we do not operate cross-site tracking of our own, the signal makes no difference to what we collect.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the site and the limited data it holds, including transport encryption and restricted administrative access. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not claim otherwise. Please do not send sensitive personal information such as financial details through the comment form or by email.

Links to other sites

This site links to retailers, manufacturers and other publications. Once you follow a link off this site, this policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of the page. Substantive changes, such as adding an analytics tool or a new category of data collection, will be described rather than slipped in silently.
