This policy explains what BestReviews.deals, a Life and Technology company, does with information when you visit this site. It is written to be read, not to be survived, so it is shorter than most. That is possible because this site collects very little.
The short version
We do not ask you to create an account, we do not run a newsletter, we set no cookies of our own, and we load no analytics or advertising scripts. There is no login, no profile, and no form on this site that asks for your personal information.
What reaches our servers
Like any website, ours records standard server logs when a page is requested. These contain your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, your browser’s user agent string, and the referring page if your browser sends one. We use these only to operate the site, diagnose faults, and detect abuse such as automated scraping. They are not used to build a profile of you.
This site sits behind Cloudflare, which processes requests before they reach us and may retain its own logs and security records under its own policies.
Cookies
BestReviews.deals sets no cookies. There is nothing to consent to and no preference to manage, because we place nothing on your device.
Two things that happen nearby are worth being precise about, since they are not us but they are close enough to matter:
Product images load from retailer servers
Product photographs on this site are not copied onto our servers. They are loaded directly from the retailer’s own image hosting when your browser renders the page. That means those companies receive a request from your browser, which necessarily discloses your IP address, your user agent, and the fact that you loaded a page on this site.
We do this because copying and storing retailer imagery raises its own problems. You should know it is the trade we made, and that it happens on every page that shows a product.
Clicking through to a retailer
When you click a product link, you pass through a redirect that attaches an affiliate tracking identifier before sending you to the retailer. That redirect is operated by our publisher account and loads Google Tag Manager. The identifier records that the visit came from us. It does not identify you by name.
Once you arrive at the retailer, you are on their site under their privacy policy. The affiliate network and the retailer will typically set their own cookies at that point so a later purchase can be credited to us. We do not receive your name, address, payment details, or the contents of your order. We receive commission reports that count transactions, not shoppers.
If you email us
Mail sent to [email protected] is forwarded through an email routing service to a mailbox we read. We keep those messages as long as needed to deal with what you wrote about. We do not add correspondents to any mailing list, because we do not operate one.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since we collect no personal information from any visitor, this is a statement of intent as much as of practice.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information a company holds about you, and to object to certain processing. We hold no account records, so in most cases the honest answer to such a request is that there is nothing on file beyond server logs tied to an IP address. We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not collect the kind of information that could be sold.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to what we collect will be described here rather than quietly absorbed into the text.
