BestReviews.deals lists products that are currently marked down at online retailers. This page explains where those listings come from, what we check before publishing them, and what we deliberately do not do.
Where the listings come from
Every product on this site arrives through official affiliate product feeds published by the retailers themselves and distributed by three networks: FlexOffers, Impact, and CJ Affiliate. These are structured data files that retailers maintain for their marketing partners. We do not scrape retailer websites, and we do not accept payment from a brand in exchange for a listing or for better placement.
A retailer controls what appears in its own feed. When a product sells out, changes price, or is withdrawn, that change flows through to us on the next refresh.
What qualifies for a listing
We do not list everything a feed offers. A product has to clear three filters before it reaches the site:
- A meaningful discount. The listed price has to be at least 30 percent below the retailer’s stated regular price. Smaller markdowns are common enough that publishing them would not help anyone decide what to buy.
- A plausible reference price. Feeds occasionally carry a regular price that is obviously wrong, which turns an ordinary product into a fake bargain. We reject any listing where the stated regular price is more than twenty times the sale price.
- A usable product image. Listings without an image are dropped.
We also cap how many products any single retailer can contribute at one time. Without that limit, one store with an aggressive feed would crowd out everything else on the page.
How often the list refreshes
The full catalog is rebuilt once a day. Each rebuild reads the current feeds, adds products that now qualify, and removes products that no longer do, including anything that has gone out of stock.
Prices move faster than any daily refresh can follow. That is why every listing carries the date its price was last confirmed, and why we stop showing a price once that date is more than a week old. The retailer’s own product page is always the authority on what you will actually pay. Check it before you buy.
What we do not do
Three things are worth stating plainly, because plenty of sites in this category do the opposite:
- We do not test products. Nobody here has handled, measured, or lived with the items on this site. We report what is discounted and by how much. We do not tell you whether a product is good.
- We do not publish ratings or scores. Since we run no testing program, any star rating we printed would be invented. So we print none.
- We do not deal in promo codes. There is no code to reveal and nothing to paste at checkout. Every discount listed here is a marked down price you should see on the retailer’s own page.
When we get it wrong
Feeds carry errors, and a price that was accurate this morning can be stale by evening. If you find a listing whose price or availability does not match the retailer’s own page, tell us and we will pull it.
